Your lists

What ships is a starter, never your list. Every screen that runs on a list carries a Your list button, and the drawer behind it adds, edits and removes, with Undo and a way back to the starters.

The drawer

Funds, Capitol, Macro and Commodities carry Your list in the top bar. The options tape on Desk · Home carries it on its panel. Click it and a drawer opens on the right with every row the screen runs on, the ones that shipped marked starter.

  • + Add a fund, a member, a series, a commodity, a name: a short form, the fields the screen needs, Save.
  • Edit (the pencil) on any row. Editing a starter makes it your copy, in place; the starter steps aside.
  • Remove (the cross). A row you added is kept aside and the strip at the bottom offers Undo. A starter is put away.
  • Bring the starters back returns every starter you put away, in one click.

The screen rebuilds after a change; a list that reads the public record (Funds, Capitol) takes a minute to fill.

What each list takes

  • Funds: the fund's name and its CIK, the number on its 13F filings. EDGAR's company search gives it from the name.
  • Members: the full name, the surname the disclosure feed files them under, and the chamber.
  • Macro series: any series FRED publishes, by its id (DGS10, CPIAUCSL), a label, a unit and a group. Groups become the page's sections; a group you name goes after the shipped ones.
  • Commodities: a label, a short id, a group, a unit, a Yahoo symbol for a daily series (CL=F, HG=F, ZW=F) or a FRED series where Yahoo has none, and the industries a move lands on, cost side and revenue side, one per line.
  • The options tape: the index or stock codes your broker serves option chains for, in the broker's own spelling.

The index Risk measures against

Risk measures your home book against your home market's index. The top bar of Risk takes any other index symbol (^NSEI, ^GSPC, ^FTSE, ^N225) and a name for it; Follow the market is the way back.

Where your rows live

In your research vault, under lists, one plain file per list, beside your notes and your chains. They sync, back up and restore with the rest of the vault, and a newer version of the desk brings them up to its shape after keeping a copy. The shipped starters stay beside the desk's code and never overwrite yours.

The watchlists and the book

Watch · Home, Watch · US, Global and Desk · Book were always yours and work as before: add a name by typing it, remove it with the cross. The ⋯ that appears on any name across the desk adds it to a watchlist from wherever you are.
