Groww

India. A key and secret from the Groww Cloud API keys page, on Groww's paid trading API, which carries live prices. Groww asks you to approve the key on that page each day.

Where the keys come from

Groww's trading API is a paid subscription; Groww's page lists it at ₹499 a month plus taxes as an early-bird price. On the Groww Cloud API keys page create a key and copy the key and its secret. A key of the TOTP kind comes with an authenticator secret instead.

Each day, approve the key on that same page. Groww will not hand out a session until you do.

On Settings

Pick Groww · India, paste the API key and either the API secret or, for a TOTP key, the authenticator secret, and click Save and connect. The desk works out the day's session from these by itself. A token pasted straight from the keys page also works in the API key box on its own, and it ends at six in the morning.

"Groww did not accept this session" means the key has not been approved today, or the subscription is not live.

What Desk · Home shows

Every holding with quantity and average cost, and cash from the margins read. Groww's holdings carry no price and no exchange, so the desk reads them as NSE names, marks every line from Yahoo, and values the account live from that.

The desk asks Groww for live prices on Watch · Home and the ticker page, with the buy and sell quotes; they come with the trading API subscription. If Groww refuses prices on the account, the desk uses the free feed (Yahoo) for the rest of the session.

The home ticker page shows the exchange's filings, and the results calendar for the home watchlist sits under Desk · Home.

What it does not show

No streaming ticks, no futures and options, no margin bar, no options tape: this file reads holdings, cash and prices. Those are optional additions a broker file can grow, and another broker describes the shape. Nothing places an order.
