Find what you are seeing in the list below, or run the one check and hand it to your agent. Anything the pages do not answer goes through Tell us inside the desk, and the reply comes back to the same page.

By what you see

• The page is blank: the address does not open, or opens to nothing.
• If something is wrong: every line a screen can say, and what each means.
• The free feed is resting, or "retry in a few minutes": quotes, a chart or the calendar are missing.
• The broker will not connect: keys, the daily session, the Check button.
• The update failed: the strip stopped, an antivirus spoke up, or the new version misbehaves.
• The Ask box does not answer: the app is not found, the sign-in, the key test.
• A number looks wrong: stale, restated, or misread, and how to check it against the source.
• Known issues: what readers have hit, dated, with the fix beside it.

The one check

In the desk folder, python doctor.py prints what the desk can see about itself: the Python version, whether the desk is answering, which keys are set by name, the start-at-login entry, the last error lines, which sources it can reach. Nothing in it is private. Give it to your agent with "read README.md in this folder, then fix what the check found". Tell us runs the same check for you.

Tell us

The last entry in the sidebar, or /report on the desk. It runs the check, shows you the report, and Send files it where we answer it in the open; the reply comes back under Your reports on the same page, and the sidebar shows a mark when one is waiting. Your email is optional, kept privately for ninety days, never on the report. Email it and Copy sit beside Send for anyone who prefers them.
