United States

The smaller of the two files that ship, on purpose: the US public record already lives on Desk · US and the intelligence screens, so this file carries only what the home screens need to follow a US broker.

Where the rest is

With a US broker on Desk · Home, the two desks sit side by side and the US record is already on the screens built for it:

  • The earnings countdown, the insider tape from Form 4 filings and the market pulse are on Desk · US, which needs no broker at all.
  • The 13F tracker and the activist feed are on Funds; the options tape on every US name is on Flow; short interest on Short; the trading disclosures on Capitol.
  • Macro carries the twenty-two FRED series for every reader.

So the results section under Desk · Home stays out of the way for a US broker, and the home ticker page shows the chart, quote and session with the rest of the US page a click away through Command and K.

Two brokers that follow this shape from outside the US

Interactive Brokers and Trading 212 hold shares from many exchanges, and each of their lines carries its own Yahoo symbol, so a London or Frankfurt listing prices correctly whatever the home market says. Their files follow the US shape today because that is where the index and the hours are closest; a reader in the UK who wants FTSE hours and the FTSE 100 on Risk writes a market file for it and points the broker file at it.
