Questrade
Canada. One token from a personal app on Questrade's App Hub, free for its clients. The desk keeps the replacement token Questrade sends back, so you only paste again after three days with the desk off.
Where the keys come from
On questrade.com open the App Hub and register a personal app with read access. Then click Generate new token and copy it.
That token is spent the moment it is used. Questrade returns a new one each time, and the desk saves the replacement, so it keeps reading without asking again. After three days with the desk off, Questrade forgets, and you generate a fresh token and paste it on Settings.
If your login has more than one account, put the account number you want in the box; leave it empty and the desk reads the first account on the login.
On Settings
Pick Questrade · Canada, paste the token into Manual token, and click Save and connect. "Questrade did not accept that token" or "Questrade refused that read" means the token is spent: generate a new one on the App Hub and save it here.
What Desk · Home shows
Every position with quantity, average cost and the price Questrade marks it at, and cash from the balances read. A line Questrade does not price is marked from Yahoo.
Live prices
The desk asks Questrade for live prices on Watch · Home and the ticker page. Real-time prices need Questrade's real-time data package. Without it, quotes are snap quotes, and they become delayed once the snap limit is reached. If Questrade refuses prices on the account, the desk uses the free feed (Yahoo) for the rest of the session.
What it does not show
No futures, no margin bar, no options tape through this read. Nothing places an order.
