Devices

Roku TV models are made and sold by TV manufacturers that license the Roku TV OS and use its smart TV reference designs, a licensing program it started more than 10 years ago. In 2023 it began selling Roku-made TVs that it designs itself, now including the Roku Select, Roku Plus Series and Roku Pro Series. In 2025 it introduced the Roku Streaming Stick and Roku Streaming Stick Plus and launched Roku TV smart projectors for indoor and outdoor use. It also sells wireless soundbars, speakers and subwoofers, and smart home products such as cameras, video doorbells, lights, plugs and a home monitoring system, with subscription plans for some of them. Its devices are sold online and at national retailers.

The platform and its own apps

The Roku Home Screen is the first thing its viewers see, and since 2024 it has included a content row that makes AI-powered recommendations drawn from streaming apps across the platform. Its Sports Experience gathers sports programming from across the platform in one place. The Roku Channel offers more than 80,000 free ad-supported movies and TV shows, 500+ free ad-supported live channels, and Premium Subscriptions to dozens of subscription apps, such as HBO Max and Paramount+, on a single monthly bill. It runs on Roku devices in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Mexico, and in the United States also on the Roku mobile app, the web and other companies' TV platforms. In May 2025 it acquired Frndly TV, a subscription service with more than 50 live TV channels, on-demand video and cloud-based DVR, and in August 2025 it launched Howdy, an ad-free subscription service in the United States with nearly 10,000 hours of programming.

How the platform earns

Platform revenue comes from digital advertising, including direct and programmatic video ads and ads built into its interface, and from streaming services distribution, which includes revenue shares from subscriptions and transactions, Premium Subscriptions and the sale of branded app buttons on remote controls.

People

As of December 31, 2025 it employed approximately 3,600 full-time employees in 15 countries, and only its employees in Brazil are represented by a labor union.
